BS5169 Air Receivers – Specification for welded steel Air Receivers
Design of Quality Air Receivers
BS5169 Air Receivers Design Code covers air, nitrogen and inert gas receivers of 3 classes; Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3
It is tried and tested and proven to meet the safety requirements of storing compressed air to meet UK and European compliance requirements.
We use this code for our standard ex-stock Air Receiver range so we can provide Great British Quality, reliability and durability. Our standard stock range is suitable for UK (PESR 2016 compliant and UKCA marked) and Europe (PED compliant and CE marked). As the minimum steel thickness used is 5mm this also allows a sensible corrosion allowance of 0.75mm.
Many air receivers which are imported with a CE mark have far inferior design and build specifications. Despite incredibly thin material thicknesses, nozzles with fillet weld sitting on punched holes and fragile supports there are local European design codes that enable them to be CE marked.
